LE TEMPS D'ÉCOUTER - BLONDE
DESCRIPTION
What is "le temps d'écouter"
le temps d'écouter is all about bringing people together for a deep, immersive music experience. We take an album, play it in full, and pair it with curated visuals to create a space where music can be felt, not just heard. In a world where everything is consumed on the go, this is about slowing down and actually listening.
The Goal of "le temps d'écouter"
Music is more than just background noise—it tells stories, carries emotions, and defines moments in our lives. Le temps d'écouter is here to bring that back. The goal is to create a space where people can connect with music on a deeper level, as a collective. No distractions, no skipping tracks—just you, the album, and a room full of people experiencing it together.
The First Edition: Blonde by Frank Ocean
For the first edition, Blonde by Frank Ocean was the obvious choice. It’s one of the most impactful albums of our generation, blending nostalgia, identity, and heartbreak in a way that feels timeless. Apple Music even ranked it #2 on their Top 100 Albums of All Time. To give it the setting it deserved, we booked Cinéma du Musée—a beautiful theater that made the whole thing feel like a film premiere. The atmosphere was unreal, and the energy from the audience proved that this concept was something special.
Production
We created 16 original visuals—one for each track on Blonde (except Futura Free). Some were micro short films, others were digital art pieces built with TouchDesigner, all crafted to match the emotions and themes of the songs. In just three weeks, we pulled together over 50 minutes of unique visuals, making sure every second felt intentional.
One thing we’re proud of: no AI was used. Every piece was made by hand because we believe real art comes from human effort. Imperfection is what makes something feel alive, and AI strips that away by making everything too precise. The beauty is in the process, the struggle, and the little details that make each piece feel personal.
The rollout
I directed, edited, scored, and produced an ad featuring a boombox radio in different environments, accompanied by a monologue of mine. The monologue explores the role and impact of music in our daily lives and how we often enjoy it alone. Instead of keeping our music tastes to ourselves, Deauville Studios invites people to experience it together.
